Queen Bee Market Inspiration

I went to the Queen Bee Market on the first and LOVED it! I know the purpose of a market is for people to buy things. I didn't walk away with much.
Only this awesome picture by Stacey Winters.
I loved all of her stuff. But I had to buy this because it reminded me of Justin and me. I also love the title "Love Your Haircut". I brought it home, put it in a frame, wrapped it up and gave it to Justin for our Anniversary of getting engaged (we don't really celebrate the day, it just happened to be the same day). You can check out her etsy site HERE.

I also walked away with lots of inspiration for getting crafty. I walked around and thought, "And I want to make that, and I want to make that, and I have to make that." So I got every one's card, checked out their online shops and made a list of all the things I want to make. I used my own names for things, but here is the list. I wanted to add pictures but didn't feel comfortable using them without permission, so you will just have to link over to take a look. And if you are not feeling too crafty just buy it already made.

Birdie Polymer Clay Clippies at Creme de la Gems

Wall Hooks and Magnets at paisley mill

Little Felt Flowers and Big Felt Flower and Fabric Flower and Another Fabric Flower at Baby Flair Boutique

Covered Notebook, Crayon Roll, Covered Button Clips at The Pleated Poppy

Word Signs at Joy's Hope

Security Blanket from MEG original

I also have a mental list of all the other thing I want to make. Maybe I should write that down too. But for now here is part of my never ending to do list.

Lily's 1st Purse

Lily has become interested in everything girly in the last couple of weeks. She steals my purse everyday. I made her her very own purse for Christmas. I had in my head what I wanted it to look like and made it up as I went. I was excited to see how fast I whipped this up. I might make one for myself. Lily's measures about 7.5 inches wide and 4.5 inches tall.
After I made this I realized that it looks just like the one on make it and love it. Maybe sub-consciously that is where I got the idea of what I wanted it to look like. I was thinking of making a tutorial if anyone was interested.

Little Red Riding Hood

For some reason I had my heart set on Lily being Little Red Riding Hood for Halloween. I also had the goal to make Lily a dress by the end of the year. I combined the two and made Lily her Halloween costume. It was my first time making a dress and following a pattern. It turned out far from perfect but I am still proud of my accomplishment.

I bought the pattern at Walmart. It was not the Halloween costume pattern. I wanted to make her a real dress. That she could maybe wear to church. I used the New Look 6448 pattern. I made a size 2 and it turned out pretty big so she might be Little Red Riding Hood next year too.

She was not fond of the cape and kept taking it off. I didn't have a pattern for that but just looked at some tutorials online and made it up as I went.

Azure Sky Creations

My very good friend, Kim, just opened an etsy shop called Azure Sky Creations. She makes and sells the cutest hair accessories. I have been shopping with Kim when she is buying materials, and let me tell you, she is very picky. She only uses the best quality materials to create her hair things. She is very careful and meticulous when making them. She makes them perfect. And the best part is she is selling they are SUPER inexpensive.

Today she is hosting a giveaway at Give Away Today. So go enter to win and if not just go to her shop and buys some bows.
P.S. Kim did not ask me to mention her on my blog. I just really like her product. Not that my blog is all that popular.

Flower Power

This is what I made this weekend.

Hair clips for Lily. There are a couple of doubles for her little pig tails. I know there are a lot of white ones, but I figure white goes with everything and a girl can't have too many white flower hair clips. Can she?

Daisy's Elephant

(Sorry this picture is such poor quality. I took it in a hurry when I was late to a baby shower.)

I first saw this tag elephant on homemade by jill. Then she posted a tutorial here. I had to make one because I LOVE elephants. I used a smaller version of the elephant template for the elephant on the onesie. Then I added a matching burp cloth to finish off the whole package. Thanks Jill!

Lily's Owl

This is one of my favorites so I had to share it first.
This is Lily's Owl. I first saw an owl like this on Kristen's blog and LOVED it. Then I saw it in my Pottery Barn Kids catalog and almost died and had to have one for myself, I mean for my daughter. So I copied it from just looking at the PBK picture below. I chose not to have long legs on mine. If you don't feel like sewing you can also find cute owls at Kristen's etsy shop.
